Kandima Awendila (pic) born in Mozambique who lives on the Gold Coast is one of our new young Comment writers. Kandi's article "Who do I turn to?" is published tomorrow in Christian Today and each day this week young Comments writers are published - another new writer Mark Conden from Darwin is on Wednesday.

Meantime Belinda Scotland's January article on her short term mission to the Solomon Islands was reprinted in the Island Sun newspaper. Once published on the internet, as our editor Dr. D., keeps reminding the young Comment writers, it's available world wide.

9-16 March set-up visit Basil Sellers Laguna Quays Respite facility: Mark painting the facing bearer under the veranda 'pale green' having already painted the steps and lattice. Internal paintng is a work in progress while a second toilet and a concrete drive way we're seeking $ giftings. We're trying to get it done by Easter as the Mackay & District Combined Churches have asked for gifted holiday housing for those in North Qld who need respite after Cyclone Yasi.

9-16 March set-up visit to Basil Sellers Laguna Quays Respite - kitchen table delivered, laundry fixed, more internal painting and veranda lattice painted, electrical work done. We prayed to meet Christian people, there is no local church. A scrapbooking sale was advertised, Delma was keen and we discovered a Christian family (their church is in Proserpine) who have been praying about initiating a Midge Point - Laguna Quays mid week bible study. One thing led to another, they will start it on our next set-up visit in April. We happily gave the $5 "seed money" to pay for the advert in the community's monthly 'Chronicle' news. Sean runs an engineering business from his large shed, Sue works one day a week in real estate, 3 children at school.

DELMA'S GARDEN - TWEED HEADS

Delma has passion fruit and tomatos growing in this new lattice patch in her Tweed Heads garden. Paul Baber from church hammered them in as they fell over in the wind after Mark's unsuccessful attempt of hammering in the stakes. Delma loves gardening, a real green thumb.

Mark introduced Tim Wilson (pic) to AIS Diving's Head Coach Hui Tong. Tim Wilson is taking over from Mark the Respite visiting role distributing the SE Qld AIS Sport Unit athlete respite flyer.
