FOOTPLATE PADRE VISITS GRAFTON LOCO DEPOT

Mark visited the Grafton Locomotive Depot in his role as the Footplate Padre on Friday. Supervising Driver Gary Turnbull greeted him and showed him around. In the late '80s Grafton Locomotive Depot was relocated from the old steam Round House in South Grafton across the Clarence River Bridge into Grafton. The rail line runs under the road bridge.

Mark also enjoyed an Around The Tables on the Thursday (27 October) with other clergy, while Delma visited her elderly mum for these four days.

E-BLAST - 23 OCTOBER 2011

Two terrific interviews for the Australian Missionary News IPTV now on our YouTube Channel. Mark interviewed Sean Spencer (photo) and Delma interviewed Sue Spencer. Each interview is short for the viewer's interest.

Sean and Sue Spencer are the Laguna Quays Respite co-ordinators. They visit the missionaries enjoying a cuppa with them. Sean is a very keen fisherman and offers to take missionaries (or whoever visits) fishing. Sue runs a Tuesday scrapbooking / craft class and the visiting ladies are welcome to attend. Delma attends and enjoys the classes immensely.

CRICKET PITCH LENGTH DRIVE WAY

Laguna Quays Respite drive way concreting was completed. We're delighted with the result. It's an ideal nets cricket pitch with the large cyclone gate. It's wide enough for missionaries and other visitors such as AIS athletes to keep their feet off the wet grass or mud in the rainy season. The path curves to the front steps. Thankyou everyone for your financial support and prayer.

E-BLAST - 16 OCTOBER 2011

Concrete pour tomorrow (Monday 17 October). The delay was that Thursday 6 October the tractor digging the drive-way level, found the mains water pipe kinked on the Council side of the water metre.

Council workers came out Monday 10 October and that put back the sand truck to Wednesday 12 October which in turn put back the availability of the concrete truck to Monday 17 October.

Two days to cure - Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th - then we leave for Timeout in the Tweed on Thursday 20 October. Never mind. Notice the width of the drive way, the full size of the large double gate. It's this wide in order that missionaries are on concrete in the wet season all the way to the house steps.

SAND DROP FOR DRIVE WAY

The sand drop was very easily done with the slip being swayed from one side of the drive way to the other.

Meanwhile the young writers are continuing to excell. Please check out the PSI site each morning.

Mark's articles are also on his personal Facebook page. Become a friend of Mark's. His name sake Mark Tronson (USA) on Facebook, to distinguish them, look for Mark's face and his white beard in the tiny ID photo box. (Can you imagine the difficulty a John Smith might have).

FARM FEST

The inaugural Farm Fest was initiated by Garry Poole on his property (and landing strip) Midge Point as a fund raiser for the local school and to promote his three new sub-divisions last Sunday. It was very well attended. Mark and Delma have been guests of Garry and Hilda over many years on Country Town Tours.

Farm Fest had displays of farm equipment, tactors, vintage cars, local farm produce, SES, Bush Fire, Police along with food stalls of various kinds. Parking was along the air strip.

E-BLAST - 9 OCTOBER 2011

ISRAEL and PROPHECY: Mark is commencing a 2 article per week six week series tomorrow (Monday 10 October) published in Chritian Today Australia and also placed on his PSI site. Photo: Israeli tomb. Over many years Mark has written on this topic but this series encapsulates each article as a stand alone as they are interpersed with articles on other Ministry topics so as not to overwhelm the reader as each article requires reflection time. Monday's first article is titled: "Israel in the midst of the Middle East".

Meanwhile Laguna Quays Respite's drive-way concreting happens this week. Mark has had a busy two months travelling and this 12 day's away by Delma and Mark is a welcome break heartily recommended by his doctor with Mark's 60th birthday coming up early November. Mark and Delma's monthly 1 min video October news is on-line, click on colour squiggly on web site.
