E-BLAST - 23 FEBRUARY 2014

Nathanael and Clarissa Yates young writer couple from Perth. Nathanael was the 2010 Young Scientist of the Year and Clarissa a scientist in her own right is developing a home business with the most astonishing little cakes which stores all over Perth order. Clarissa from Singapore only became a Christian a few years ago and her articles often explore these new beginnings for her life. After Cycle 1 the Panellists have marked their articles very well.

Stephen and Sarah Urmston young writer couple from Melbourne and who visited Laguna Quays Respite last year and again July this year. Stephen ministers with stories and puppetry while Sarah ministers Melbourne Uni campus with Christian Students Union. After Cycle 1 the Panellists marked their articles very well.

James and Sarah Young another young writer couple from Melbourne, and a mission couple who visited Laguna Quays Respite. James (known as Jimmy) ministers to Youth and Sarah Masters in Psychology. After Cycle 1 the Panellists have marked their articles very well.

E-BLAST - 16 FEBRUARY 2014

37th wedding anniversary (Wed 12 Feb) we attended a remarkable Gideon's Luncheon for local Pastors. Heard story after story of God's work within the heart of people all over the world having read a Gideon's bible. Caught up with Rev Allan Jones (now Tugun Baptist) who heard me speak as the Australian Cricket Team Chaplain 25 years ago and is now the National Chaplain for Surf Life Saving.  
Delma's craft - Sunday night last week Delma had a phone call to do a tutorial card-making class at the Tuesday Tugun Baptist Craft Group. That is one of the regular Craft groups Delma attends. pic - Delma with her craft wheelie bag.  

HOME CARE LARGEST IN NSW

Monday's Northern NSW Baptist Ministers' gathering in Ballina heard Rev Scott Pilgrim CEO of 'Baptist Care' (formerly Baptist Community Services) give a thorough run-down on recent care ministry developments. One interesting stat was that Baptist Care is the largest provider in NSW for 'home care' services and in the top group national wide for aged care .... Question of the week - did the ministers put their names down? (sic). pic - several of the Baptist ministers mingling.

SHADE HOUSE LAGUNA QUAYS RESPITE

Shade house blowing over was the only damage after the recent cyclone at the Whitsundays. Sean Spencer our local coordinator said that usually Midge Point escapes the worst of it if it comes across the mainland above Bowen which it did.
New missionary booking this week for September - apart from some time in June it is booked by missionaries through to end of October.
