E-BLAST - THURSDAY 28 DECEMBER

New Year week  -  Boxing Day we had the grand children with us from Sydney to Tweed Heads and a day later Anthea and Robert flew up. Thursday we all had a family lunch at Burleigh with Hayley and Brett who return to Melbourne after their honeymoon on Friday (tomorrow). Wesley had to work this week and he flies to Adelaide Friday evening for New Year with the Bishop family, then he and Madeline fly home Monday night for work as from Tues 2 Jan. A full-on New Year week for us all.

E-BLAST - THURSDAY 21 DECEMBER

2017 Basil Sellers young writers art  -
titled
'Young Writers Slicing Thru'

A few weeks ago I showed this photograph to some teenagers in Kingscliff at a friend's 70th birthday.  They were aware of the young writer ministry. Upon viewing it, immediately they recognised it had nothing to do with the images on the canvas - a knife cutting a quaver, a cumcumber or a butter knife.

This is Mark's article on Mon 18 Dec on this annual young writer art work

Midge Point Beach 'super high tide' - an art work by Jill Liepertz the winner of the Basil Sellers Midge Point Art Prize 2013, 2016 and 2017 -  gifted and now hanging in Timeout in the Tweed.
After Cyclone Debbie in March the beach was left devastated and in early December Mackay Council has initiated a refurbishment.
