E-BLAST - 31 JULY 2016

Jill Liepertz has won her 2nd Basil Sellers $2000 Midge Point Art Prize with "Fury of the Sea". Notice the detail of the port hole bolts and hinges. Basil Sellers set the theme for the 2016 prize of "Storm" - the art works represented some form of storm from the beach under siege to wild horses. The exhibition of the 8 finalists at The Point Tavern is displayed in the restaurant. This follows on from last weekend's Basil Sellers $100,000 Sport-Art Prize in Melbourne. Mark's articles on these art prizes were both in turn No 1 Most Popular in Christian Today. Jill Liepertz won the 2013 inaugural Basil Sellers Midge Point Art Prize.

Laguna Quays Respite - beach leaves Midge Point Beach - 7.00am daily beach walk. We arrived Mon 18 July and here for another week. Next Sat 30 July is the Basil Sellers Midge Point $2000 Art Prize.

E-BLAST - 17 JULY 2016

3rd bedroom / office Wesley's, Brisbane - we visited Sunday. Wesley had already collected these two mattresses from us. They had been made-up for when Anthea and little Harriet came. When not in use the 2nd one fits under the single bed. Salley and Sam were in the second bedroom for his week of seminars (Salley visited us, Wed). And yes, we met Henri the 4 monthly old French Bulldog puppy. Instant friends!   

E-BLAST - 10 JULY 2016

The Panellists have completed their tasks for the 2016 Basil Sellers Young Writer Awards for Saturday 13 August in Sydney. There are 4 separate groups of Panellists.

Australian panellists - 6 people
New Zealand panellists - 6 people
International panellists - 6 people
Sport panellists - 5 people

From Jan to July these Panellists mark their respective young writers allocating points out of 10 for each article. The New Zealand and International statistics have been completed, there is a clear winner in the Internationals, amazingly after 25 weeks we have a draw in the New Zealand group.

E-BLAST - 3 JULY 2016

Mark and Delma - photo taken this weekend by Mike Burr who was visiting from Manchester. Mike was a teenager when Wesley was at Bramall Baptist in Manchester (7 years in the UK) and arrived in Australia on Wednesday for a six month DTS (Discipleship Training School) with YWAM at Bryon Bay. Wesley arranged for us to look after him for 3 nights. He left yesterday for Byron Bay fully refreshed. Mike has joined the young writer international team.
