E-BLAST - 1 SEPTEMBER 2013

Tony Dunkerley is giving a plenary to the young writers mini-conference on Friday 6 September in Melbourne at the 2Pocket Fair Trade Espresso Cafe upstairs meeting facility - 277 Little Londsdale Street.This is an open meeting.

Tony is former Joey's Assistant Soccer Coach, former Under 21 Victorian Coach, immediate past Victorian Football President and former Junior Football Commissioner and is currently in the development stage in establishing junior football for refugee children.

Tony Dunkerley's focus is on mentoring and has been involved in many Country Town Tours with us.

Jeremy Dover is our MC for the Friday morning program which has two plenary's the second is from Sam Burrows one of the young writers from Auckland NZ.

ARPA 6-8 SEPT - MELBOURNE

ARPA this year is being held in Melbourne commencing 12noon Friday 6 Sept - (the PSI young writers conference finishes at 11.30am one block away).

Again a number of the PSI team are attending ARPA as last year. This will be Mark and Delma's 6th ARPA conference and they bring back at least one fresh idea for PSI each year.

E-BLAST - 25 AUGUST 2013

Russell Modlin is the MC for the Mini-Conference Thursday evening program on 5 September in Melbourne. Russell is the newest member of the Well-Being Australia Board with a specific interest, that of the young writers.

Russell is one of the original young writers 2011. First met Russell and Belinda in Mackay in the '90s on a Country Town Tour where he was a school teacher, then they served for 4 years in Mission in  Central Australia and are now back on the Sunshine Coast.

HARD YAKKA FOR YOUNG WRITERS

Belinda Croft with husband Russell has been doing the hard yakka for the Young Writer's Mini-Conference 5-6 September in Melbourne.

Belinda is one of the original young writers from 2011 and they relocated from the Sunshine Coast to Melbourne last year and have since had a baby, Ardon.

Belinda has helped oragnise accommodation, the venue, awards and a whole lot more. Well done!

E-BLAST - 18 AUGUST 2013

Task at Hand is the title of Mark's art work that he presented to the Tweed Heads Chamber of Commerce "business card drawer" for last Tuesday's breakfast meeting. He provides a small art work for each month's breakfast "drawer".

Mark subsequently wrote an article for Christian Today for publishing in a few weeks from one of the speakers topic, that of the changing nature of employment to areas where employees can provide 'empathy'. 

ILLUSTRATED BY JUGGLING

Juggling is the title of this art work by Mark and it illustrates his article Monday 19 August in Christian Today on the recent history of the policy on immigration that Denmark implemented.

Far reaching policy changes headed off fiscal, political and social ablovian. Mark's article is titled

E-BLAST - 11 AUGUST 2013

Laguna Quays Respite cottage and position of car port. Mackay Council sent through the roof approval on Wednesday. Karl Kirkwood told me that the roof should have been put on yesterday to complete this specific project.

We have been donated a gas bbq by Sean Spencer and a timber table from Will Pearce who is building it from rustic timber at his place at Calen. This has been such a remarkable project. Thankyou everyone.

E-BLAST - 4 AUGUST 2013

Midge Point Post Box (PO) - Delma posted her first ever letter 'posted at the Midge Point PO'. It was a letter to the grand children in Sydney.

Two days later we posted the August Newsletter snail mail envelopes from this same post box. Again the first time we've done this - usually from Tweed Heads PO. 

CHRISTIAN MEN - LQ RESPITE

Will, Mark and Ray sat down for a "men's shed" chit chat which lasted 2 hours as each shared what the Lord Jesus had engaged each in their lives - conversion, salvation, ups, downs, battles, joys and the like. We meet again next Tuesday morning.

CANE TRAIN

The cane cutting season is on big time around Proserpine along with many of the 2 foot narrow guage cane trains. This photo was taken on the Bruce Hwy between Proserpine and the Laguna Quays - Midge Point turn off. 

YWAM - HUMPHRIES FAMILY

Jeremy & Elea Humphries and children Daniel, Mia and Mathias - head up YWAM Whitsundays. Most visits to Laguna Quays Respite Mark calls in on YWAM and catches up with Jeremy. They have numbers of mutual friends and Mark's spoken at various YWAM DTS's (Discipleshp Training Schools) around the country and overseas.

Jeremy and Elea invited Mark and Delma to their home for lunch. Elea is from Norway and Jeremy US. They served in Turkey (YWAM) for 6 years and eventually to Australia (Whitsundays YWAM). They have many YWAM young people from around the world in their DTS program and a terrific outreach.
