E-BLAST - THURSDAY 30 NOVEMBER

 Laguna Quays Respite  -  Midge Point Beach repairs after Cyclone Debbie underway with three different tractors - a bulldozer pushing the sand to the embankment, a long arm tractor pulling out the old geo-fabric and the back hoe (photo) dragging the old geo fab and running it up to the road side in a massive huge pile.
Meanwhile Mark attended a Qld Gov'nt seminar on disaster relief specialising in small business. Petina Tienan based in Cairns is a small business coach helping with grant applications and the like, contracted to the Qld Govn't travelling up and down the Qld coast for this purpose. It was providential visiting Laguna Quays Respite in these two weeks- home to Tweed Heads Sun 3 Dec.

E-BLAST - THURS 23 NOVEMBER

Midge Point Arts Annual Morning Tea this morning - Thurs 23 Nov - at Gina Passfield's farm - approx 15 key people - Gina put on a wonderful farm spread in the bagola overlooking the O'Connell River. 2018 art prize separating the southern division based in Calen from the northern division based in Midge Point and Bloomsbury. The reason is a simple, it is almost a 50 min drive from Calen to Midge Point - art delivery, art launch, art collection. 4 finalists from the southern end and 6 from the northern end (10 in total) for the judge to decide. There will be a first place and a people's choice. They all concurred the Archibald's 'Packers Choice' this year outshone the winner.

E-BLAST - THURS 16 NOVEMBER

Delma on her way to giving another tuition on handcrafted card making. Delma has two such craft weekly functions (one at Tugun Baptist [Living Temple Christian Church] and one at the South Tweed Sports Club), leads a weekly KYB group at the Presbyterians, visits the Southern Cross (Catholic) nursing home one afternoon a week with her assigned 4 oldies as a Pastoral Carer (assigned Protestants), attends one or two Ukulele classes (AEA Southern Gold Coast at Tugun) and part of the Southern Gold Coast Ukulele group that visits nursing homes and now, many more with the Christmas season and carols. Delma also attends a weekly Auslan class and now has a RogerStick (hearing stick) a wifi direct to her hearing aids. We live in Tweed Heads - 200 metres from the Qld border, Coolangatta. Obviously, Mark needs to make an appointment to see Delma.

E-BLAST - 12 NOVEMBER 2017

While in Adelaide we enjoyed a Country Town Tour to Victor Harbour with our host Steve Payne, member of the Chamber of Commerce.
