Laguna Quays Respite  -  mission people arrived yesterday for a 7 day respite recuperation stay. The new dining wall air-conditioning unit is in, 5 room repainting done, oven door fixed, a single bed, door stops on plus plus. Your giftings to these on going maintenance costs are critical.

Next a 6.6kw 24 solar panel system. Ergon Energy cut our 8 year discount (corporate issues) and as there is no cost for missionaries, you our $ supporters meet the costs including electricity. One proven way to reduce power costs are solar panels. 4 years ago a helper donated our 16 panels at Tweed Heads which has reduced our power bills.

Laguna Quays Respite  -  morning tea last Friday Delma with Jill Liepetrz and Gina Passfield two of the previous winners of the Basil Sellers Midge Point Art Prize. Gina a travel agent and Judy McDonald are doing the publicity and promotion of the 2019 Basil Sellers - Point Tavern Art Exhibition on Sat 17 Aug. Basil Sellers sent an email saying he will do his best to be there (again). Mark met with Inas Jackson who coordinates this annual art day.This is a week after the young writers conf on 10 Aug.

The stove / oven will be replaced - our August visit. Electrician Rod Dench put a chain on the oven door to keep the hinge in place - photo.

Ergon Energy cut out our discounts (legitimate for 8 years but not now) - our 3 neighbours use Arise Solar - I talked to Arise - 6.6kw 22 solar panel system (accept our discounts) - a very reasonable end cost. A savings of $500 installation with our discounts. 

Tweed Heads  -  we were gifted 16 solar panels in 2016 - Delma and I on appointment visited (NSW) State Services before this trip for their considerable research - we have now changed provider to Origin 'Solar Boost' - a saving of $250 a quarter. Everyone today is more than a consumer, we're required to be 'discerning plus with double boost'. That's Biblical too!      

E-BLAST - THURS 9 MAY

Laguna Quays Respite - the wonderful paint job Will and Margaret Pearce did through the cottage - this photo is the kitchen.
We arrived last Sunday after a hectic young writers Brain's Trust weekend in Melb. Already the electrician has come to replace the front veranda power points, the air conditioner man is due tomorrow to replace the lounge / dining wall air-con. Will Pearce is coming tomorrow to set up a single bed in the 3rd bedroom. Delma and Margaret are having a tat-a-tat at the local cafe. Sat morning Inas Jackson coming for a cuppa - subject Basil Sellers Midge Point Art 17 Aug, Sat arvo barbeque with Sean and Sue Spencer on their 'hill block'. Then Sun Mother's Day dinner at the Tavern.

Young writer's brain's trust meeting on Saturday in Melbourne - photo - Cartia Moore and Amy Manners the two in-house video producers for the young writer program - Cartia does the PSI news video and Amy the newsy bits video.
10.30am  morning tea to 12.30 (lunch) - Sam Gillespie is chair and the three discussion points are  -  the video girls, the conference led by Peter Brookshaw in the discussions and the weekly program for the young writers.
