E-BLAST - 27 NOVEMBER 2011

Complete the caption: This concert item (complete the caption)

This photo was enlarged and framed and given to Mark for his 60th birthday by his minister Rev Ian and Cathy Aylward. It was taken in 2007 at a Church mid year function of Mark and his mate Ian Carlson.

It's being handed out at the church Christmas party Saturday night 10 December with a prize for the best caption. Our E-Family are also invited to send in their 'caption suggestions'.

DELMA'S AUSLAN DEAF SIGNING

Mark received this as one of his 60th birthday cards, so he cut it out and sent it to his 3 three year old grand daughter with a note on the back:

"Grand-ma returned home to Tweed Heads and is here practising for her Auslan deaf signing class."

The class has several presentations at various functions in Tweed Heads leading up to Christmas by "deaf signing" Christmas Carols as the CD is played.

FIRST NEW SUIT IN MAYBE 12-15 YEARS

Mark's friend Basil Sellers ear marked a gifting to purchase something for himself. Delma was very pleased as Mark needed a new suit.

Purchased from Digby's Menswear at Broadbeach that caters for 'the other' in men's body shapes, ie Mark. It came with two pairs of trousers and braces.

E-BLAST - 20 NOVEMBER 2011

The five 20 foot Fox Tail Palm Trees along the front of the Laguna Quays Respite facility and the five much smaller fox tail palms along the side of the building. Huge task - digging holes, landscaping, planting, tying them with hessian rope, watering. Trevor next door will be keeping the water up to all 10 Palms.

Thankyou for everyone's assistance who assisted in this wonderful beautification program. We're thinking of putting Desert Rose between each Palm Tree and planting the smaller Palms Trees along side rear fence in February. We also planted a gifted 10 foot Bowen Mango Tree at the back.

DELMA'S 3D CHRISTMAS TREE TUITION

Delma was invited by Sue Spencer who runs the Tuesday Craft Class in Proserpine to give a tuition on creating 3D Christmas trees and Paper Tole for hand crafted cards.

When we're on Respite at Laguna Quays it provides Delma the time to create many hand crafted cards along with catching up on her reading. Delma walks each morning mostly along Midge Point Beach.

The Laguna Quays Resort swimming pool is open to the public and that is 2 minutes up the road.

TROY AND JACKIE DUNN

We met Troy and Jackie Dunn after church in Midge Point. Troy is a former World Champion Bull Rider (Rodeo) and together they run Professional Bull Riders Australia, and they have a Bull Riding School on their Bloomsbury property. Jackie says she is the administrator, cook and ambulance caller (Bull Riding is prone to broken bones).

They support the Rodeo Ministry (Cowboy Church program) with the Rodeo Pastors, people who we were associated with in the '80s and '90s. At Rodeos they set time aside for the Cowboy Church program. It was terrific catching up.

E-BLAST - 13 NOVEMBER 2011

Palm Tree Project - Laguna Quays respite: Tractor removed the shrubs and then dug out the large holes on Thursday ready for the palm trees which get planted tomorrow (Monday).

Sunday night (tonight) a number of the Midge Point and Laguna Qauys community are meeting at the Point Tavern for a meal to also celebrate Mark's 60th - the tradies and helpers (and their families) who have helped this Mission Respite project.

FIRST PHOTO 60th FAMILY GIFT

Mark promised the family that the first photo he would take with his new 60th birthday family gift camera was Delma. It is the latest version of his former camera (which takes terrific photos - per the Newsltters) which he asked for - the hand held Digital Canon IXUS 115 HS.

Delma on Midge Point Beach for her 6.00am walk for 30 minutes of sunlight as the doctor ordered. Mark gets the walk too whether he likes it or not, but he heads for the water's edge to splash his feet in the salt water.

Photo - Paul and Julia Baber and son Raphael (from our church), Wesley (back from his UK holiday) and Troy Green (the Presbyterian church, 2IC Tweed Shire).

Wesley spoke on behalf of the family and his short speech replaces our monthly (November) "1 min" news video.

DELMA'S FASCINATOR HAT WINNING ENTRY

At our local church "Just For You" first Tuesday of the month over '50s function, each person was given craft materials to make a Fascinator (it was Melbourne Cup day). Delma won the Best Fascinator Hat prize.

On Wednesday 9 November we're off to Laguna Quays Respite for the Palm Tress Project. Last month we completed the concrete drive way project.
