E-BLAST - 28 JUNE 2015

Timeout in the Tweed - in the nick of time - these two pipes were leaking, the plumber showed us the frail would have shortly burst them with water everywhere. We caught it in time. The plumber noted that when we travel to the missionary cottage or go on Country Town Tours, to turn off the mains water. He told us an example of what occurred in another place.  

WILL & MARGARET PEARCE - LAGUNA QUAYS

Will and Margaret Pearce are the couple who did the hand rails work on the Laguna Quays Respite steps. Will put in the hand rails on the front and back stone steps and Margaret painted the yellow line on the back patio. Both the hand rails and the yellow line are safety associated - scroll down to last week's photos please. These photos were sent to me by Michael Kent who does the lawns. 

DANIEL MATHEW - NOW BASED IN LA

Daniel Mathew served as the MUSIC young writer for two years before relocating to the USA. He has a degree in ministry / music from Wesley (Sydney) and returns each year for the Hillsong conference where he writes an annual Hillsong conference 'music' article for Christian Today as he will next week again. Daniel has now returned as a regular young writer joining the international young writer group. We have 4 young writers covering Hillsong for Christian Today's 'Christian News' - David Luschwitz, Nathaniel Truong, Grace Mathew and Daniel.

DANIEL AND DANIELLE STOTT

Young writers Daniel and Danielle Stott and little Lydia are relocating from the Gold Coast back to Melbourne next week. Danielle won the 2014 Australian Basil Sellers Award while Daniel wrote a fabulous series on "Dad perspectives ..." They both went to bible college in Melbourne. Daniel is a school teacher while Danielle has had several stints in hospital with melanomas, several on her back and arms. They have lost two little boys in stillbirth. Her article 'Lament' has been republished in a number of publications.   

JARED & SEIRRA DIPROSE - AUCKLAND

Jared Diprose will be attending the 1 Aug young writer awards conference. Jared is an Auckland 'comment' writer and spoke at last year's conference on his art developments and the leasing of an art warehouse. Six weeks after the conf., Jared lost his left eye in an industrial accident at the art warehouse and is back firing. He is presenting a hand crafted wooden bowl for Basil Sellers at this year's conference. Sierra his bride of 5 months will be with him.

JOSH HINDS - 1 AUG CONF.

Josh Hinds will be at the 1 Aug young writers awards conf., in Sydney. Josh is a sport writer. Josh spoke at last year's conference on C.A.R.D. - Christian Article Registry Depository. Josh is a school chaplain and his SpidersTouch IT business. Josh set up the PSI site and the Dr Mark - WBA site (both are Weebly sites). He is married to Laura and a father of two little boys.

2015 Young Writer Awards Conf., 1 Aug in Sydney every young writer who attends receives a Panellist "their best article" certificate and an inscribed "very popular" coffee mug. 2013 red, 2014 blue and 2015 green. The Basil Sellers Top Awards are determined by the Panellists for Aust / NZ / International / Sport.

BAPTIST MINISTERS MEET IN BALLINA

Eleven Baptist ministers northern NSW met at Ballina on Tuesday. This photo shows Lyn Prentice of Baptist Care, Steve Smith The Hub - Grafton Baptist and Allan Jones Alstonville Baptist. Next meeting will be at the Lower Clarence Baptist (Maclean) and the one after in Tweed Heads.

1928 Ford - CoolyRocksOn 1400 vintage cars on display. I received many requests for this week's E-Blast to show some of these vintage cars displayed at CoolyRocksOn. Here is a nostalgic selection from 1928 to 1961.

COOLYROCKSON - DICKIE SEAT

Dickie Seat - CoolyRocksOn 1400 vintage cars on display. Under today's many safety laws the Dickie Seat is no longer an advertising feature for motor vehicle sales. But once it was a very popular item in a motor vehicle.

COOLYROCKSON - CHEV UTE

Chevie Ute - CoolyRocksOn 1400 vintage cars on display. Watch any of the old black and white movies from the 1950's and you'll be a Chevie ute. They were very popular.

COOLYROCKSON - FORD CUSTOMLINE

Ford Customline - CoolyRocksOn 1400 vintage cars on display. The Ford Customline was the forerunner to the Ford Fairlane series which ran right through to 2009 when the last Fairlane came off the Ford factory.

Morris Minor - CoolyRocksOn 1400 vintage cars on display. There were a number of Morris Minors, a favourite for many in the 50's and 60s.

VW Bettle - CoolyRocksOn 1400 vintage cars - VW Bettle with roof rack ready for camping ! There were many Beetles on display this year. 

E-BLAST - 7 JUNE 2015

2015 CoolyRocksOn Church Service held in the big marquee on Coolangatta boardwalk adjacent to Coolangatta beach was a highlight as it was last year. It ran from 8.30am to 9.30am with Mark preaching. Ken Harris and his band The Son Chasers provided rock'n'roll Gospel music. It proved to be a huge occasion.   

KEN HARRIS AND THE SON CHASERS BAND

Ken Harris and his band The Son Chasers provided 4 hymns and 3 items for the 2015 CoolyRocksOn Church Service. Ken and the band are from Beachside Baptist at Palm Beach. In the band was Ken on lead guitar, a base guitar, a drummer and two vocals one of which was daughter Kaleagh.

2015 COOLYROCKSON CHURCH SERVICE

2015 CoolyRocksOn Church Service held in the big marquee on Coolangatta Boardwalk adjacent to Coolangatta beach on the Gold Coast. This was the 2nd year in the new format with the service held in the marquee. John Grocott was on hand as last year on the camera.

2015 COLLYROCKSON 'PREACHERS GOWN'

Heavy Preacher's Gown - Mark showed the congregation at the 2015 CoolyRocksOn Church Service his Preacher's Gown and how heavy it was with one of the congregants actually lifting it and acknowledging it's weight. Mark didn't wear it as although it was June, Coolangatta was still very warm.

Mark preaching at the 2015 CoolyRockOn Church Service. Bill Parr gave the Bible Reading and where the Bible Society sent 'Bible Reading Guide' flyers for the service which were handed out as people went on their way at 9.30am.

DELMA 5 YEAR CERTIFICATE

Delma received her 5 year certificate as a pastoral carer at the Southern Cross Nursing Home in Tweed Heads. Delma has 5 ladies who she visits Tuesday afternoons under a state wide pastoral carer program. This was an auspicious occasion,
