Gold Coast young writers Leigh Clough and Tim Price had lunch with Mark on Thursday. Leigh is originally from Geelong where he came to faith in Jesus Christ and initiated a fitness business which led to an mixed industrious business based on the Gold Coast. Tim is near finishing his Masters in Theology, partly on campus in LA and partly online. Tim is the new Week 4 editor and attended One Day in Melbourne. Both will be at the young writer conference on 12 August, Sunshine Coast. 

E-BLAST - 25 JUNE 2017

John Lemmon is the second plenary speaker at the upcoming young writer conf Sat 12 Aug on the Sunshine Coast. John is speaking on 'Blogging in a Christian Context' as he did at One Day in Melbourne on 3 June. John is also one of our senior writers. Since John retired he and his wife have travelled around Australia numerous times in ministry. Many of our young writers have their own blogs (or similar) and this is wonderfully timely.

Mr Mark Furler is one of the plenary speakers at the 2017 young writers conference being held on Sat 12 August at Alexander Park Conference Centre at Alexander Heads, Sunshine Coast. Mark Furler is the former editor of the Sunshine Coast Daily for many years and is now with AAP. His topic for the plenary is
"News Angles"
- a very pleasing topic for the young writers - constantly looking at fresh topics for their articles. Sunshine Coast young writer Caitlyn Furler  -  Mark is her dad!

CoolyRocksOn Church Service 'washed away' after massive down-pour Saturday afternoon and night. Organisers cancelled every 'event' in the open air stages (electrical explosions) 'til 12noon Sunday which included the 8.30am Church Service. Some local regulars to the CoolyRocksOn Church Service turned up Sunday morning for coffee -
Ken Harris (band leader), Gavin and Jan Lawrie, Vanessa Sprague and Phil Black, standing behind is Corinne Pennay editor of the Gold Coast Christian newspaper Informed, and Mark T (was to have been the service leader) and Rev Dave (Living Temple Christian Church) was to have been the preacher. One Day in Melbourne - photo - mission executives Ben Campbell AE and Jim Dawson WEC - yesterday at the one day program held at the Moonee Ponds Salvation Army. The room was packed with mission editors, social media maverns, writers, authors, small Christian media people. The speakers John Sandeman (Eternity), Cheryl McGrath (CMS), David Goodwin (Online) and John Lemmon (blogger) - article tommorw in Christian Today.
