WALLACIA CARTOONS 1984

1984 Wallacia (Sydney) - Mark painted on the fibro garage wall four 'cartoon characters' when the three older children were little. Salley wasn't born until 1990.

Forward to 2012 in Tweed Heads -  neighbour at Timeout in the Tweed erected a tall paling fence '1 metre' inside his own boundary for his suburban farm yard - right outside our kitchen window.(there is a wire fence on the boundary).

See next photo to see how Mark is re-creating these cartoon characters to hide the paling fence from view.

TWEED HEADS CARTOON ART 2012

For the grand-children - Mark was donated a new hard-foam (poly) surf board whereupon he gave it three coats of (exterior) white, then sketched the cartoon characters on it followed by the paint (exterior), then sprayed gloss lacquer (exterior). It took about 4 hours of delicate work - and a week's drying time in total for the various stages. Paints and gloss lacquer spray $37.44.

This week Mark's handiman is hanging it outside the kitchen window to help hide the paling fence at Timeout in the Tweed. Everyone who visits may also enjoy it.

E-BLAST - 14 OCTOBER 2012

Bill and Sirphim Hellier attended John Cleland's funeral service on Wednesday in Canberra. Bill was Mark's junior hockey coach (Canberra Baptist Teams) in the 60's. Bill collected the lads, coached them, led the youth group, Life Boys and Boys Brigade. He oversaw many of his charges become followers of Jesus. Mark introduced Bill to many after the funeral as his mentor of a life time.

Delma read Psalm 100, Mark gave one of the eulogies and Wesley was one of the Pall Bearers. Delma is so sad for Ruth, her sister, such a young widow. John (58) died after three strokes then complications.

LAGUNA QUAYS RESPITE

Master bedroom of Laguna Quays Respite illustrates the open space throughout the respite cottage. Delma selected the bedding to ensure it was bright. Three bedrooms, lounge, dining, kitchen with a view over Repulse Bay, an enormous covered open back patio while the front veranda is spacious. There are cooling onshore breezes day and night.

Visitors: Scripture Union missionaries just left, Wycliff next (later this week) followed by CMS missionaries from Slovenia.

LQ RESPITE CO-ORDINATORS

Sean and Sue Spencer Laguna Quays Respite co-ordinators  -  Sean runs a local Midge Point engineeering business and Sue is a mother of three and runs a mid week craft class in Proserpine held at their Liberty church building.

E-BLAST - 7 OCTOBER 2012

Sydney young writers gathering Saturday evening 6 October saw Lindsay and Jan Archibald (30 year supporters) bringing Christopher (one our young writers) all the way to North Sydney from Penrith.

One of the purposes was to video Christian Today's David Chang on Christian Today philosophy and to edit it down to 4 min as an on-line link for all the young writers across Australia and New Zealand.

David and 'Lindsay' who does this professionally at his work got together and instead of a video - a power point voice over will now be produced. Remarkable providence.

CHANCELLOR AND SALLEY

ACU Chancellor General Peter Cosgrove and Salley touch their academic caps in respect at Salley's graduation (B.Comm - Accountancy) in Sydney.

Mark took this photo way back in the auditorium, it was wonderful timing to get this exact moment. Mark then trimmed the photo and did some photoshop work on it to get this clear close-up image. Remarkable technology.

SALLEY GRADUATES

Salley's graduation in Sydney with a B.Comm (Commerce - Accountancy) was a special family event. The traditional academic gown and cap were black, while the hood was wattle blossom in colour, In the ACU graduation booklete there was a section why the wattle blossom was selected.

Thankyou everyone for supporting us as a family over all these years to ensure our children too were provided an educaton and they took their opportinities to progress in their chosen academic fields.
